Should businesses be taking more environmental responsibility?
Today we’re focusing on the buzzword ‘sustainability’ and how we can all take small steps in the right direction. Here at Co-Host With Me we care about our clients, our homes and the environment, that’s why we’re reducing our footprint!
At the outset, we simply want to do GOOD for our environment. Climate change has become one of, if not the most pressing concern of the present, affecting global economies and societies on a global scale. Businesses can be one of the most influential and powerful enactors of change in this space. We may all be small separately, but each of us has an impact on multiple people. If we spread the message through small choices and changes, it will start to become our reality. Co-Host has recently reached out to a number of local businesses who are doing awesome things in the sustainability space, we’d love to support them and stock their products and intern share the, with our guests! Just to name a few: Zero Co, Eco Bin, Eco Life Box, Eco Caffe!
It also makes good business sense! In today’s day and age, we’re always looking to improve efficiencies and reduce cost. Sustainability is all about reducing waste and minimising environmental harm. So really, it’s a no brainer!
Lastly, it simply feels good! Being a good corporate citizen means we have an accountability to both people and planet. One survey of 9,100 businesses around the globe found that 81 per cent of respondents believe they had a responsibility to combat climate change and 21 per cent said taking a sustainable approach to business is essential for survival.
So what do you think? Are there ways your work can become better environmental warriors?
For us, its about taking small steps in the right direction. Whether that’s switching to LED lightbulbs or using eco-friendly products, it’s important we re-think and re-new.
